Is it possible to play multiplayer through a local network area without having to se the internet server thingo. If not in PJ64 maybe PJ64K?

Well... First of all you need an emulator which supports multiplayer through a network. Depending on how multiplayer through network is implemented to an emulator you have to follow different steps to make it "work".

Many emulators allow you to play on a network using the kaillera client/server system. You have to download the kaillera server application and set up your own kaillera server if you want to play through a LAN.
Other emulators use their own "multiplayer through network" system. You (usually) just have to give the IP of the PC you want to connect to (ie: your friend's PC) in order to play.

Project 64 does not support multiplayer on a LAN or over the internet but there is a modified version of Project 64 v1.4 named Project 64k which supports it using the kaillera client/server system. 1964 v0.9.9 also supports multiplayer through kaillera.

i created a server and connected properly with a computer which was connected to mine via a wireless LAN setup (adhoc peer-peer)

it connected good and everything but it was a little slow, i found that strange since the connection of the wireless lan was 54 mbps. is there anything i could do to fix this slow problem ?
