I made it work !!!!! whaaa, and without reinstalling !!! few

hello guys...

i finally made it work in my win98 system... didn't know if i found a solution, but i'll explain what i did :

my system : Athlon 1GHz, 256 Mb SDRAM
i usually have 64% of free mem when i start my system, after all the applications are loaded....
i closed all the applications running in the task bar ( exept soud, joystic ;p and clock ... the emu did'nt start, arf, so i made the contol+alt+sup to see all the task running, and closed many of them manually.... ( some gave me error not responding, hum hummmmm ;p) .... i free 80% of my mem ....
the emu started again ( haaaaaa  )... reboot my pc ... didn't start again with the 64% mem ( hoooooo :( ) so .... i made the control alt sup again, and i close the "savenow" application that was installed i cant remember when, cauze, i never asked for it..... the application not responding... and ... whaaaa, the emu started again with 65 % of free mem .....

weird huh ??? ( now i need to know why i have SaveNow, and if i really need it in my computer :p )

coninue my tests ;p

byeeee thanks

whoooops !!! just made some tests, the savenow does nothing..for now i need to close a task named " Internat " to make the emu running... the application shows a not responding window.... i have no clue of what is this application .... any idea ??

btw i have many application not responding in the contr+alt+sup window....don't know what many of these do... but, if all the people having the memory error has such task not responding, maybe this could be a solution ;p

?????????????????????????
I know that applications that are "not responding" cause a problem or two. Best is to terminate these programs. Usually, a frozen program that isn't "responding" often causes other programs not to start.

Well, apparently a good thing to get it working would be to terminate as much services as possible.

it's me again....

i've tried to make all the contrary as previous : i opened as much as application as i could ( not so many thoug ;p ), in order to have only 18% of my mem free .... the emu works ok, so it's not as hungry as it seems before, the real problem with this version seems to be with app not respondig ( the previous versions were ok )

i'll continue to open programs to see of far i can go ;p

ps : so if i've understood, savenow is an adware ?? grrrr

UPDATE : i've just finiched using RegCleaner and Ad-Aware to clean my system... all is cleaned but a single task : Intarnat ... it seems to be a sleeping task, and it not responding. I must kill this task every time i start my computer in order to make the emu work... after that, it runs ok ....

but can't find what lauch this task, so i always have it on startup, grrrr, and don't know what it does.....

btw, people with the memory alocate problem should look at the running task, and especially, the sleeping ones, real bitches ;p

Congratulations!

Laahel friend:

Congratulations for you and for your explanations on how to get the emu working (without reinstalling!).

Hmmm... Sleeping applications :!!!: ... well, maybe that's the problem and the solution  (I don't know how many sleeping apps did I have before reinstalling the OS  but maybe I had a very nice ones... Well, I don't know yet).

Nevertheless, reinstalling the OS, due to his nature, seems to very well correct these problems too... ;)

About the sleeping INTERNAT.EXE, I have to say that I never have heard of it before :plain2: but let me tell you that maybe there is no need to rename the app. Maybe (yes, I said "maybe") you can remove it with the RegCleaner (look at the STARTUP tab). I tell you this because, when installing MS Office (for example), a Microsoft Office app is put on the startup and, despite you remove it with the MSCONFIG, when rebooting the app is there again :plain2: . Removing it from REGCLEANER makes it completely disappear (and without renaming!)

Anyway Laahel, congratulations again and enjoy!

See you! :bunny:

thanks to you all guys who helped me ;p

btw the problem with internat.exe is that it doesn't appear in regcleaner !!!! thats why i renamed it... i 'll put it again, now that i have deleted my connexion sharing, to see what it do and if there is a connexion ;p

UPDATE : youhouuuu !! juste restarted, and the app is no more loaded ! so, it should really be affiliated to the connexion sharing... since myne was always bugged ( dunno why ), the app is not responding, and the latest verison of pj doesn't like this app not responding, fo sure ;p....

well, for the reinstall, since i have no more my CDs an HD, well, my only choise was to try anything and everything ;p PERSEVERENCE is the word  am i the devil ?? :pj64:
