PJ64 Crashes with WIN 2000 PRO

Hello to all !

I've a problem with Project 64. I'm using the version 1.5 and I have serious problem with graphic plugins. Everytime I start a ROM my PC reboot.
I have notice that when i use Jabo Plugins everything goes well with Windows 98 and ME. So I think that isn't a problem of hardware components but software.

Here are my system capability :

Pentium III 866 Mhz
256 Mb RAM
Windows 2000 Professional
Abit Siluro GF2 MX 32 Mb

The Error Message with Jabo's Video plugins is :

"Direct3D failed to initialize your HAL device. Make sure you have a properly configured 3D graphics card compatible with Direct3D 6.0 "

Crashing problem

Dude, it's not PJ64 crashing, it's Windows 2000 crashing.
That's majorly bad. It's a Detonator driver problem
and/or a DirectX problem most likely.

Because Windows 2000 was crashing, to see what error
it is next time Windows 2000 crashes, do the following:

Go to Control Panel>System>Advanced>Startup and Recovery
and uncheck "Automatically reboot".


Then if Windows 2000 crashes again when loading
a Nintendo 64 ROM, post the stop error message you got.

Yea, along the same lines, sounds like some major incompatability there. Try upgrading your Video Card drivers, try another video plugin to see if it crashes too.

Win Xp Pro

Hi every1 >:]

Im having the same problems with win xp its just rebooting its
self when i load a game <pj641.4>
wierd thing is that i was using this emu just last week & it ran fine
but now al of a sudden its crashing my pc......

Im using a radeon 8500Le 128mb with cat 3.1 display & control panel drivers........
Iv uninstaled the drivers & tested the emu again & it didnt crash
this time'But i need thoses drivers for my pc!

im not to sure wot to do now so any help or advice is much apreciated!

try tweaking the settings

If you really need a particular driver, but it crashes pj64, I'd recommend that you try tweaking the hardware acceleration (disable parts of it) using the DirectX control panel (downloadable from Microsoft) or your graphics card driver's settings under the desktop control panel. This would be good for a temporary fix only, of course. Hopefully you'd eventually be able to get a driver that would work for all your apps.
