Just thought I'd rant about this...

The sooner record companies/software companies understand that the general population doesn't class software copying or music copying as theft, the sooner they'll realise that they're not gonna win the piracy war from the direction they're taking now.

'Law suit after law suit' and 'law after law' can't stop a huge majority of the population of a democratic country copying stuff. If it is the will of the masses to commit piracy, who is the government or fat corporations to say no? We live in a democracy (well most of us on this board , and what the people says goes!

But here where I live the ask 60 USD for a game and about 60 for a prog. I think this is just waaaay to much for just 1 prog you mostly don't use all the time

Right. Here, in The Netherlands (and I think many other places in Europe) the price is double that.

But so what. I don't buy games. Mainly cuz I don't play them. I buy console games tho. Cuz I do play them. I could download GBA roms, yes... but why? I rather buy the game. Not to 'support the developers' or something... no, I just want to own it. It has a nice feeling.

I'm not saying I don't do warez... but, if alot of stuff were cheaper (also with MP3s: download an x amount of songs per month for $x per month... that'd be cool) I'd buy alot more.

What pisses me off are people (like you maybe) that expect it to be free, and have a "why buy when I can get it for free?" attitude. Well f--k you and f--k you too.

I just bought Windows XP Pro official. If alot of other MS apps were alot cheaper, I'd probably have those original too. Unlike other ppl (again, maybe like you) who think they deserve to get it for free, no matter what.

My Windows XP is Copied, most of my software is legal, and i have around 1000 Trance Mp3s and about 5 Divx dvds and am proud of it

the few apps i use i actually have.

nero, quake 1, quake 3, well basically all my games are legal

i've got a warezed win2k, winxp, and office xp.. b/c thats just rediculously outpriced although i've got a free NFR copy of norton 2003 systemworks pro coming from symantec

winbeta.org has the post about it if you want a free legit copy, but u have to be in the US.. :/
