Perfect Dark

I'm running perfect dark, but in the combat simulator some walls look messed up. I have an amd xp 2000 and a geforce 4 mx 440. How can I solve this??

you mean see-through (the walls)? I get that sometimes too (on temple and grid). I dont think there is a way to fix it, i tried quite a few settings. Just use it to your advantage...

From a distance I can see VERY little trough them, but when I come close the walls are almost transparant. I'm using jabo's direct3d 7 1,40, i'm playing in Direct 3d T&L HAL and my texture format is set to 16 and 32 bpp. Isn't there a good plugin to solve this? What's the best emulator to play PD??

jabos is the best plugin for PD atm. I use 1964 and pj64 for PD, 1964 is usually faster. Doesnt matter which u use, u can still see through them.

also as i recall, in temple, the transparency depends on ur angle, while the pillars in the grid has always been transparent

Yeah 1964 is faster but perfect dark runs way too fast. I think it's double speed and I can't find the framerate limiter. Also, with conker in 1964 i have those ugly borders around the screen wich I don't have in pj64.

The speed limiter is in the cpu menu.

The reason for that is because the older versions didn't have a resolution fix for games.(I think) If you were able to get 0.8.3, then those problems would have been fixed.

Ok thanx the border problem is solved:happy: but what do I need to select to enable the frame rate limiter?? It is in the CPU menu, I think it's video speed sync but that doesn't work........

The video speed sync is what limits it. If it is still too fast, try to sync game to audio in the audio configuration .

This still doesn't work..... Both sync game to audio and video speed sync are on but it still runs way too fast.:angry: :angry:

did you try it under the 0.8.3a or 0.8.3c patches? Those patches did fix some issues...(at least I think it did)

No I just run with 0.8.3, do you know where I can find those patches??

You can't find them here or on their site anymore but if I remember there are still some sites with those patches available. you need to do some searching.

I've figured out that i need to set the counter factor to 5. The game runs good now.:happy: Thanx 4 your help!
