Perfect Dark - Graphical Problems

In the carrington institute there is a place where you fire different types of guns at targets. Well when your in that room there seems to be problems with the graphics as there are many white lines on the black walls. Therefore I am thinking that it looks rubbish. Does any one know whether I can do anything about this problem or not. I am currently using the jabo 1.5.1 plugin. There are other problems like this, but they aren't as clear as this.

Furthermore I think this game and Goldeneye would be really good on the pc as the graphics can clearly be better than the n64's. Now all these games needs is some consistancy in the frame rates and the eradication of these graphical problems!

You mean the light blue lines that appear on the edges of polygons in Carrington Institute? No plugin fixes this. Funny how you spot this and not the other stuff like unemulated framebuffer.

Please could you explain what 'unemulated framebuffer' is as I don't understand what you mean by this.

By the way do you think that there will ever be a plugin that deals with this problem and if you do tell me which one you think will do it.

Jabo's plugin (along with some other plugins) skip certain effects in the game, eg. Blurring surrounding the Perfect Menu, Camspy, IR Scanner, Night Vision, Slayer cam and Motion blur are all unemulated by Jabo's plugin. Just though you'd pick up on those first.

That blue line problem may be fixed by some other plugin, enabling filters like hq2x/4x and Anti-Aliasing can ease the problem but it still remains after that.

In the meantime try using other graphics plugins as some of them can emulate those missing features, eg. Rice's Video, Direct64 and Glide64.

Oh its just that I haven't really played the game that much on the pc as I use to have it on the n64 and I completed it. By the way i did notice the camspy problem on the second level.

Hey I would also like to know if you have any idea on how to create a graphical plugin for a game. This is because I would like to try and make one or is it much more complicated than just getting a program to create a plugin.

Depends if you know programming languages. The plugin specs are in:

Project64/Docs/Plugin specs

If you can understand that document you have a fighting chance. If you have no programming experience, then you need to learn and that generally takes more than a year. Creating a graphics plugin for an accomplished developer is still very difficult.
