I wonder if these games really should be so slow that they are on my comp... I have the recommended system requirements and I have tried to change the "Advanced Block Linking" and "Counter Factor" but it didn't help!

Here are my system specs :

AMD Athlon XP 2400+ (2.0 GHz)
768 MB RAM
GeForce 3 Ti200 (64 MB RAM)
Windows XP Home Edition with Service Pak 1
DirectX 9.0

Should not these specs run the games on nearly full speed!?
Any advice?

These games do have high system requirements so even on high end computers with decent processors and graphics cards they can run slow on PJ64. If you use 1964 for these two games, you will get less slowdowns and a faster speed. Use Jabo's graphics with it and you should be fine.

At that system you should have a decent speed. I know someone with a waaay slower system, but he had all the settings at max and turned interpreter on and he played at a decent speed. Go to the uninstall folder of PJ64 and click at the uninstall for win XP. Now run PJ64 again and everything will work fine! You can also try 1964 with the same plugins.

Yeah ok... I tried it with 1964 but this time it runs too fast (lol), about 2x or 3x faster than normal is there any way to take it down to normal speed?

Press CTRL+(a number 1-8) and see which is working the best. You can also go to rom-options to set the speed to NTSC or PAL (PAL for an E-rom and NTSC for the rest).

also it could be your mobo. the kt333 series is kindof crappy on pj64. Try a kt600 (you can get 'em not for 70-80 bucks),

Do you know what it could really be my motherboard (Asus A7V266-C) because it only has a slow KT266 chipset... But I have not thought of purchasing a new mb quite yet, instead I have thought of upgrading my graphics card to a Ati Radeon 9600 Pro will that help at all??

Your processor may be underclocked. *Make sure the FSB is at 133 mhz*.
If the FSB is at 100 mhz, the processor is running at 1.5 ghz.
Also, upgrading the video card should help.

No, it is not underclocked. In fact I had it overclocked to 2.3 GHz awhile ago but it made the CPU temperature as high as almost 65 C (should be the same as 150 F or something like that), which was too hot and made the system very unstable... So I had to clock it back down!

PJ64 should give you perfect results with your processor, but Clements is right as usual, 1964 will give you a better result, take it from me, my computer gives me a really slow 007 and PD as well.

Problem is that the audio isnt 100% perfect (edit:I think its just my sound card, stupid intergrated audio)

Listen, it's your mobo. That kt266 chipset is dragging your whole machine down. I was amazed how much smoother 007 and PD ran on my machine when I simply swapped mobos. Just get a cheap kt600. You'll be real happy with it.

Well, I'll upgrade the video card first and then if that doesn't help then I will purchase a new mb! By the way thanks for all your support :)

You can also wait a little, because Goldeneye is running at a decent speed with the new 1964 beta, so if you wait ~3 weeks, these games will definatly run perfect at your system!
