I would consider continuing to continue writing my endeavors to get Perfect Dark running perfectly on my system, but I switched emulators and now have another weirder problem. So I’m using 1964 with Rice Video plugin 6.1beta10, I tried using it with project64 but the game flickers to the point it literally made me avert my eyes in pain. But now I have it running practically perfectly (haven’t tried out the camspy/sky yet) and now I need answers to a peculiar problem. When the opening cutscene starts the screen is filled with lines that reminded me of a t.v. getting no signal, it slowly went away and I don’t think the blur effect showed up properly (screen went darker(?) when attempting to blur) The next problem has to be the weirdest. I don’t know how long I have to be playing for it to happen but it happens. Everything will be going fine, perfect, over 50 fps no dips, and then the game locks up. The sound repeats itself like a broken record and the screen freezes. This lasts for several seconds until the game “starts up” again. Then a few seconds later it locks up again…and again…and again. Forcing me to ctrl+alt+delete.

Thanks.

I'm tired, I'm on the verge of giving up. Head hurts. :plain:

I'm sorry, could tell me how I would check that, what would my mobo chipset have to do with it. I've tested four differnt Rice Video plugins so I'm sure its not a video problem. I tried 1964 version 085 with Rice Video 5.6.0 and it didnt freeze/lockup, but it had the werid graphic errors for the begining cutscene I talked about up above (no blur effect, bizzare werid color overlay in the begining.) and of course was incredably slow...at least my sound works...

Those are some strange errors. I have had the best results with Project 64 1.6 and Jabo's video plugin that comes with it. It works almost flawlessly the only glitches for me are in the cutscenes although there are probably some frambuffer effects I'm not seeing. Under 1964 with Rice's plugin it works good as well I believe motion blur works better or at least faster than Jabo's but the sky would disappear on me in the Villa mission.

I'm using a Radeon 9800 Pro which would probably explain why things are so much different for you but it should run fine on either ATI or NVIDIA.
