PC Shuts Down

I have this problem with every single emulator I've tried:
Everytime I load a rom, it loads, but when it's done loading, my PC just shuts down :huh:
Does anyone else have experience with problems like these?
Specs: Pentium 3, 550 Mhz, Windows XP, Voodoo3 (Not quite the fastest PC around, but it usually works fine)

I've tried Daedalus, 1964 and Project64.

i would say a virus, scan your system.
this is only a guess but emulators should not shutdown your pc, it doesnt happen to anyone else, but i once had a virus that shutdown the pc, sometimes when i opened .exe programs i think.

It could also be an overheating cpu. Does it shut down with any other programs or games?
