hey, i bought my own pc for the sole purpose of being able to do what i want, when i want, without having to "ask" someone. well, my pc isn't under ANY type of admin locks or anything, but i want to be in control of who uses this computer and what they can use when they DO use it. please, someone tell me how to set myself up with a password so that only "I" can use my pc. also, can you please let me know how to undo the process in case i don't want a login screen anymore? i use XP, please help. thank you very much.

Yeah, I've never used XP Home, but I'm guessing it is the same as Professional.
Just follow these steps, I'm not sure if you're using an Italian version or not, but it should be easy to translate:

1. Go to Control Panel
2. User Accounts
3. Click on your name, go to Create a password, set one and it'll ask you on the Welcome screen for a password every time you click your name. No one will be able to get in now. Unless they format your computer, of course.
To get rid of your password, do what I have just said, and go to 'change your password'. Then just make your new password blank, and it won't ask for one when you log on.

Once you have done that, create an account for someone else, and give them limited access by clicking on their name, going to 'change account type' and check the 'limited' box.

Thanks Korn, but why does everyone assume that I'm in Italy just because my FAMILY'S country is Italy? Lmao. No, I could NEVER in a million years understand the italian version of XP because I only know a couple phrases, lol. Well, you gave me SO MUCH helpful info and I'm VERY appreciative. As to everyone else, I don't know what a "bios password" is, so I really don't know what the heck you're talking about, ha ha ha. Well, thanks again everyone.

P.S. I know I'm sounding like a total n00b, but I honestly just forgot. How do you make letters appear in reverse, Korn?

<----- Because you have your nationality set to Italian on the message board.
