paper mario issue

Honestly I would like to, and have tried using the wrapper since I don't have that voodoo thing or whatever, but there are 2 problems.
1) I don't know how to configure it to work with PJ64, the directions on their forums just confuse me, so if you could explain it more clearly like a step by step process that would be great.
2) I don't want it to badly effect other games I play (OoT).

1) To use the wrapper with Project64, for Paper Mario:

a) put the "Glide3x.dll" (the wrapper), into the same place as Project64.exe.
b) pick the Glide64 plugin.
c) in the Glide64 options, it is highly recommended to select "hardware framebuffer emulation". This will fix the speed problems associated with those nasty RAM<>VRAM texture transfers, which are used for some special effects in Paper Mario like:

* the "Tidal wave" effect
* Motion blur etc..

However, you might need to select "read every frame" to have a correct pause screen background (remember that read every frame can be very slow for some games, and it helps greatly to have HWFBE enabled.

But, the problem is, you need a video card that is at least fully compatible with DX9 (as DX9-class cards generally have a OpenGL 1.5/2.0 implementation, which is needed for the functions in the wrapper that enable HWFBE to be usable.)

Oot should work almost 100% perfect with Glide64 and the wrapper.

Ok so place the file in the same folder that the .exe file is? ok
What do you mean "pick" the file?
And where do I access the Glide 64 options, again I am using the PJ emu obviously so I did not realize these options were available.
Again I am a beginner, thanks again.

Yep, thats right :)

You pick the plugin to use in Project64's options. It should be "Glide64 Wonder Plus".

There is a option to "configure video plugin" in PJ. If you can choose that, you can tick "motion blur" and "hardware framebuffer emulation". Of course, you'll need a pretty good video card to be able to use those options well, with no speed loss.

More Paper Mario Woes

I got past the scene with Twink and Princess where the star zooms out and totally bends over Project. Now, I'm in the Boo-haunted mansion, and I picked up an item called a Weight, and the screen goes black.

Any ideas? If this question was already asked, I apologise. I tried searching for it.

All of my Project stuff is run at default settings, save for the window size, which doesn't make a difference in performance. The thing has a 128 meg video card and a gig of ram and a gig and a half processor. I'm not sure what to think.

What are your computer specs exactly? "The thing has a 128 meg video card and a gig of ram and a gig and a half processor" doesn't exactly cut it.

Use Glide64 with a wrapper.
