P2P Networks options?

I just realized that the Fastrack Network just sucks! Is there's any other P2P better than that? Which one? What program could I use for it and how?

OK I only used Kazaa Lite to mainly download MP3s... but now hardly gets connected and when I try to download a file, it never starts, even with files that has a lot of sources to download them... OK... What network is best for MP3 and videos and what is better for software? What programs could I use for them?

The best in my opinion:

MP3's: Mirc (although you you need to know what you're doing).
Videos: Bittorent (use Shadow's experimental build)
Software: Kazaa Lite, Bittorent, and Shareaza (better than eMule).

I'd have to say without a doubt eMule. I've used all of these extensively, and the most stable, reliable network, with the most variety in available files to download is eMule. The downside is that it's ridiculously finnicky to configure, and will not work at all really behind a firewall of any kind.

On a related note, anyone know where I can get a 10/100 ethernet router without a built in firewall? Seems like there should be dozens of cheap old ones lieing around.

I vouch for emule. I always find everything I want on there (including exotic stuff that many of you have never even heard of no doubt)

Well Shareaza incorporates the eDonkey/eMule networks and adds gnutella... the problem with eMule alone is that you often end up 1346 in the queue and you you have to be connected for 36 hours (which you can only do with cable/DSL) to start downloading certain things. You're going to get something faster if it's available on Kazaa/Bittorent.

I can't say anything about dialup, but for me, emule is much faster than kazaa/bittorrent, fakes are extremely easy to spot, dupes never occur (e.g. the exact same file, just named different,) and corruption attacks are impossible (e.g. RIAA and their croneys sending corrupt portions of files)

Agree, agree, agree. Shareaza is also super buggy and crashes all over the place. It's a great idea, but they don't have a schibo in house there, obviously.
