Overclocking Help Please

I know overclocking is kind of like the lottery, so I bought 5 tickets to improve my chances of winning, by using a big-ass, always rated great cooler (Zalman CNPS 7000A-AlCu), some Arctic Silver 5, a case with good cooling (Kingwin K-11-BK i believe), a good power supply (Enermax 470W Noisetaker), and a good mobo and some good ram (Asus A7N8X-E Deluxe+512 MB Kingston HyperX PC3700).
I have one teensie weensie problem, i cannot go beyond 208 FSB and boot to windows (1:1 fsb/RAM ratio) no matter how much voltage i put through, i am soon replacing my XP 2500+ with a mobile xp 2500+, and i wanna know, could my ram be the problem? it has hynix chips and i am actually using higher ram timings than recommended to give me more overclocking room but it won't even run at its labeled speed. and if i do replace it, i am probably getting some dual-channel 1 GB ram, but should i get OCZ or Mushkin?

HELL YES. IT'S ME!
being pc3700 it isnt going to be the ram.......

thats what you get for buying an asus. you should have got an abit or DFI motherboard.

Gigabyte slaughters all.

...me...biased?...nahhhh...

I've got a question about ram though. I'm running dual channel pc3200 now, two 512 DIMMs. If I buy a third block of 512 and slot it in, presumably losing dual channel, what will the speed hit be? Noticeable?

hmm, i fixed my problem by forcing single channel (got me high stable ram speeds) and i figured out that i got a shait CPU, gonna replace it with teh mobile

As far as i know motherboards for desktop pcs are not designed to work with mobile CPUs (altough they should) - some work, others don't iirc ;)

the AMD Athlon XP Mobile is a normal athlon that is selected from a special batch that can pull 1.45V stable operation and is multiplier unlocked to comply with AMD's PowerNow laptop power saving features
