I've learned that my name means "The Warrior", and I guess that has some truth behind it (I got a coffee mug once that had my name on it, and a little history behind the name :p):

MARTIN
From the Roman name Martinus, which was derived from Martis, the genitive case of the name of the Roman god MARS

MARS m Roman Mythology

Possibly related to Latin mas "male" (genitive maris). In Roman mythology Mars was the god of war, often equated with the Greek god Ares. This is also the name of the fourth planet in the solar system.
