cool.
maybe some proof might be nice, as most of 3dfx's patents belong to nvidia now. And 200Mhz DDR memory doesn't have a bandwidth of 12.8GB/sec. furthermore if there are 4 chips on the board it will cost damn much.

and I just imagined the cooling this sucker is going to need

and I guess to get around the patents they've altered it just enough for it to be considered and original design.

LOL shouldn't this be in Tech Talk?

Meh...
not sure if its even gonna come out, thats why my topic is what the hell ill post this. but LETS HOPE 3DFX WILL COME BACK AS 3DPOWER MWAHAHAHAHA!!! and restarts the rampage project, like i say, 3dfx has always been ahead of its time. the voodoo5 6000 basically proves it and same with the voodoo2 when it first came out, HELL WHEN ALL THEIR CARDS FIRST CAME OUT THEY WERE AHEAD OF ITS TIME!!!

Meh...
i told you its a rumour, but the specs for the rampage were true. btw 3dpower is a real company, and they do have 90% of the 3dfx's employees, but im hoping they'll release the rampage soon... i heard that 3dfx wouldn't have gone out of business if they didn't delay the voodoo5 6000 and did let it go out in the retail market...

I don't believe it until I see it, at the moment of writing I can't remember the other company who according to they had the most revolutionizing graphic chip in the world. Bit I have heard news of Matrox coming out with a new card soon, it's should be based on either this circuit or the other unnamed card, which I believe is finnish - most likely BitBoys.

I Run This
Let me clean this rumor up ;)

3DPower did pick up some 3dfx employees, but they are not manufacturing 3dfx/glide cards, they are manufacturing nvidia boards.

Even if 3dpower had the ability to launch the rampage, it wouldnt be able to use Glide technology, because, nvidia bought the glide API from 3dfx when they went bankrupt. Right now, it seems they have done nothing with glide, but store it and not use it, Maybe in the furutre, theyll try to include glide4x or something in their cards as their thirciary API, but i doubt it.

The rampage, was indeed a real card, it was gonna be relased after the voodoo series, ending with the voodoo 5 6000. But the specs that Goku gave out, are a bit farfetched, but it was going to have two t&l units, two voodoo 5 proccesors, and 256mb of ram, which would have gave nivida strong competition would power like that.

3dfx's mistake, was manufacturing not only the chip, but the boards, cables, ect. They had to concentrate on selling the chip 6to manufaturers like elsa and people like that, they opened up way too many board manufacturing plants, and had no money to cover for it.

I would love for 3dfx to make a comeback, with new inverstors, new employees, new engineers, ect. I loved the damn company, and their very original features such as anti aliasing, developed by them, bit off by nvidia, is one of the most important features in a card today. I felt like my brother died when 3dfx went down. They where a good company, and they had real good plans for the future, just that they didnt get to carry it out in time, and bankruptcy came first.

The spelling is off, but you get the idea.

Actually their new card is done in house, and is a completely new design. No more G400 cores ;) The only thing they might do is patent XBA or some part of it, like they did with EMBM a few years back. And Bitboys had their own card due out last year, but apparently the manufacturer that was supposed to make the cards went out of business. Thus they only have a few test boards of the chip. The same happened a few years back with Trident and Bitboys. They have had incredibely bad luck.

matrox sucks ass for 3d performance. 2d is their specialty, as well as RT video
Ah just wait a few months :)
