woot thanks that works now Using normal blend in the rice drivers also got rid of the Text problem. Only thing remaining now is the startup screens graphics bugs and the occational hangup were you end up with a black screen, for example when startingt the practice battle in the tutorial.

But im happy as long as its playable.

I'm able to get the background now, but now all the graphics are f'd up. Ideas? Specifically text and battle and menu graphics are all blotchy and text gets a black background
