i've been reading ALL posts in this forum about this game and the black background problem but i still cant make it work properly

i'm using 1964 0.9.9, rice 5.5.1, pj64 rsp plugin (i've also tried an unofficial rsp plugin i've found in this forum), my video card is a radeon 7000, 256ddr, p4

it doesn't work.... black background is still black and that black texture in the intro remains black

i don't know too much about n64 emulation, so those plugins are probably wrongly configured (i've tried quite a couple of configurations though)... i've also heard 1964 has problems with radeon cards...

i've also tried copy/paste those plugins in pj64 plugin folder, rice's doesn't work. default video pluing doesn't display the background either

my video card won't make it work? is it a configuration problem? ....help ><

Hi,

If you have a Radeon, download the latest version of Rice's video plugin.

Those certain backgrounds do not work in 0.9.9 and they will not. Rice has fixed it, but it is fixed in the core of our unreleased 1964.exe.

isn't 5.5.1 the latest version?

"Rice has fixed it, but it is fixed in the core of our unreleased 1964.exe"

does that mean that i need both the plugin and that new version? (whenever you release it) (my english isn't very good  )

i guess i can't ask when that new 1964 will be released... i'll have to wait v_v

rice 5.5.1 doesn't work in 1964 0.8.5? (it doesn't appear in the plugin list)

hey schibo did you fix the sound stoping during gameplay bug? (I think its a core issue since it happens no matter what plugin your using)

that and save stats don't seem to function correctly from time to time. (mainly with rices new plugin )

I would suggest you use PJ64 instead of any of the two version of 1964 for now. 1964 v0.9.9 doesn't work with OgreBattle64 background yet due to a core problem, and I personally have problem running the game with 1964 v0.8.5. On the other hand, I can run the game with PJ64 without any major problem except the sound and the speed (Both of them are just slowing down...). Give it a try first :)

You need to copy the dll's from the .99 1964 directory to .85 1964 directory as well as the plugin for .85 to see the new plugin.

I noticed that the background works in a few select places, like one or two boss battles. why would it work for those and not the rest?

You need to play in PJ64, since the 1964 have a bug in jpeg decompression.
Put the plugin dll and ini in pj64 plugin folder and msvcp71.dll and msvcr71.dll in \windows\system32 folder

In order to get it work in 1964 0.85, you also need PJ1.5 RSP.dll to the 1964 0.85 plugin folder, and need to enable rsp in 1964 0.85.

nighty, where do I get those files, and how can I get my saved game to open in a seperate emu? Namely from 1964 0.9.9 to pj64? It wont let me save to pj64 state cuz it has an illegal character (?). Oh yeah, Pj64 wont open states, and my in-game saved ogre battle loads as ogre battle with no saves. help?

get the files from 1964 0.99. and , i believe, to use the save states in another emu like pj64 you need to rename them (change the extensions) to pj64 states

I cant rename them because *?* is an illegal filename character. Besides, there doesnt seem to be any way to open states in PJ64. Or for that matter 1964 0.8.5

? = number 0 to 9

eg.: file.pj0, file.pj1

but you will have more success if you rename a cartridge save file instead save state

Could you guys let me know wich kind of settings you are using to get ogre battle 64 to work? Or atelast work with the black backgrounds? Right now im using the Rice 5.2.0 video plugin and im running an ATI radeon 9800 pro on a p4 2.2 ghz system. Im running projekt64.

With the standard D3D plugin i get the menu screen etc fine, the text is fine but once i start the game for example the tutorial the screen goes black and nothing happens

With Rice daedalus 5.2.0 in d3d mode with T&L software enabled i get some odd black box at the left side of the menu with translucent outlines of what looks like characters. But all the text is looking wierd with bluish edges etc. i start teh tutorial and teh text issue is still there.

Id be happy for any insights from you gurus here :)

Thanks in advance!

aka Saiko..
Thats the way to get OrgeBattle for those who dont know alot in emulation..
1-Put both Pj1.5 and 1964 0.9.9 in one folder.
2-put Rice video plugin 5.5.1 WIP in Plugins folder
3-Run Pj & select Rice 5.5.1[dont use any other plugin :getlost: ].
4-Run the game..
very simple I think
