Number of Adaptoids

Is there any limit to the number of Adaptoids you can use with Project64 or is it pretty much the same as the number of controllers you can use in N64. I was wondering if I got a USB hub with four USB ports if I could just plug my four N64 controllers into that and use it the same way I did with the old N64. This would be especially good with Perfect Dark and Bond.

I don't currently have any. It's more of a speculative question.

I have successfully used 2 on my PC. I imagine 4-player games would work equally well if you were lucky enough to have 4.
