Noob's guide to cooking

as a big fan of cooking knowing that a lot of people have health/weight problems i've decided to start a little thread regarding easy to cook but still tasty recipies... i think nowadays it's very important knowing some basic cooking and not everybody has somebody to learn it from... i don't know how you think but for me i'm sick of eating junkfood, pizza, microwave stuff etc... 'nuff said let's start with something simple:

pancakes:
---------

ingredients:
- milk
- flour
- eggs
- a little salt
- oil (i prefer sunflower)

equipment:
- a stove
- a pan (teflon)
- a soupspoon
- a dish to put the pancakes on

1) put the flour in a bowl
2) pour the milk in slowly while agitating the flour and stop pouring as soon as everything is mixed up and you get a quite milky paste... but still pasty
3) now add a little salt and eggs (you can say 2 eggs per 100g flour, you can also orient on the color of the paste => when everything looks a little orange) and agitate everything up again
:TIPP: i like adding the oil also to the paste because then you don't have to use oil while frying... so just add some oil to paste and off we go to frying
4) now we need a very hot pan and by hot i mean hot so turn your stove to max and wait some minutes for the pan to heat up
5) now take the soupspoon, hold the pan a little diagonally and start pouring the paste into the pan and rotate the pan while shaking a little with your hand => as soon as you've filled the whole area you can release the pan on the stove again and wait 30s-1min... then you can take the pan into the air again and shake it a little bit... if you have a teflon pan with no scratches on it you can try to throw the cake around... if not you can use a (sorry don't know the english word but i'm sure you know what i mean ;) ) to turn it around and wait another 30s

the first cake will most of the time not look that good but you can taste it and check if you need more milk, flour or eggs
well that's about it... happy frying
of course you can now put jam on it and eating but if you want to make a real meal out of it here a little idea from me:

filled pancakes over-baked with cheese:
--------------------------------------

ingredients:
well you can choose basically everything for the filling but here's the version i prefer the most
- paprika (the color makes no difference in taste but in looks so maybe take a grren and a yellow one)
- tomatos
- champignons
- bacon
- ham
- oregano
- olive oil (imo the best for vegetables)
and for the sauce
- cream
- crème frâiche (dunno the english name)
- rubbed cheese
- don't know the exakt name but here it's called strenght - i use maizena

equipment:
- a stove
- an oven
- a pan
- one of those porcelaine dishes for baking lasagne

1) okay so first you should start the oven (200°C) and wash the vegetables and then cut them to small pieces... the same for bacon and ham (you can also tear it apart if you like bigger bits)
2) fill the pan with olive oil (don't worry about adding too much... believe me)
3) add the vegetables and let them fry until you get a hard on by the smell
4) now add the ham and bacon and finally the oregano, salt and pepper (as you please)... then let it fry a little longer and take the pan off the stove
5) now we're gonna put this filling in the middle of the pancakes, enclose them from all sides, roll them together and put them into the porcelaine dish until it's filled
6) now take the cream and add crème frâiche, cheese, strenght (maizena) and if you like salt & pepper, mix it up and then pour the sauce over your pancakes
7) put everything into the oven and wait for about 30-45minutes

ENJOY!

ps: i'm doing my recipies "freestyle" so feel free to criticize me ;)

Pan Cakes are too easy though. Go for something a little more challenging :p

Yeah like you've never ate cake or pancakes before in your life, thats a process of baking you know, there are tons of male chefs or bakers in the world these days so if you ever buy a baked item chances are you've been exposed to your homo buddys. you're infected... you better go wash yourself!

My point is if you view bakery as a homo activity, you are childish, you are living in the 50s and you are an idiot.

Edit: Oh yeah and the same applies to cooking as well because humans prefer to eat hot food if you haven't noticed.

@scottcj pretty much my opinion ;)
so here's another recipe hope you like it...
oh and feel free to contribute yourselves

sweet turkey in hot rice:
-----------------------

ingredients:
- 1 can of pineapple cubes
- 1 can of half peaches
- 1 breast piece of turkey
- 2 paprika
- 2 onions
- hot chillis
- curry powder
- cinamon powder
- rice (depends on your taste)
- olive oil

equipment:
- a big pan with a cover
- stove
- a pot
- 2 bowls
- can opener

1) open the cans and put the juice into one bowl and the fruits into another
2) take the piece of turkey and cut it to small pieces (i also cut out the white stuff in the meat cause it's nicer to eat)
3) put the pieces into the bowl with the fruit-juice, add (a lot) of curry and a little cinamon, mix it a little and leave it like this
4) cut he vegetables to small pieces, put some water in the pot and let it heaten up (for the rice)
5) while the water is getting hot we can start with frying our pineapples and peaches a little without oil (just for draining some water out of them)
6) put the fruits back into their bowl and take the juice & meat and fill it into your pan and cover it up
7) your water should be boiling by now so you can add the rice, always check on your meat because it will start to make bubbles and go over he pan if you don't uncover it every once in a while
8) after about 5 minutes the meat should be done and you can add it to your fruits (together with it's juice)
9) now wash your pan a little, put the olive oil in, and fry your vegetables
:TIP: you can also add other hot stuff if you prefer
10) by the time the vegetables are done your rice should also be ready so simply fill it into your pan and mix it all together, if you want you can now once more check if it's hot enough

that's it... serve it both seperately

Yeah... so i said "go back to the bakery, homo" not because i think cooking is gay (I think food is awesome, and cooks who are good are great), but because (i dont know if you noticed...) the website is called EMUTALK.NET. If i get flamed 'cause of my posts about the government and what not, why cant i flame shithead for posting how to make pancakes when i can go out and buy aunt jemima? Huh? Tell me, why?

zurki, no offense intended buddy... cook on.

If you haven't noticed, this is posted in Talk of the town, any topic can be discussed here not just emulation. You have no right to flame it because he broke no rules and there is no fixed area of discussion in this forum.

Yeah you can post about the government too, but thats a subject nobody agrees on so thats more likely to be flamed apon.
