No Mercy flickering prob

I searched the forum, and I did find a post about the problem I'm having. But the post was from back in May. And I'm just hoping that maybe there is a better solution.

I've been playing WWF No Mercy on the default settings in Project64 1.6. It works just fine, except when I'm in matches with 4 wrestlers, and even one is outside the ring, there is terrible flickering. The game is still playable, but the flickering gets really annoying. I tried tweaking settings, and it didn't really help.

The solution in the older post was to use a different, yet outdated video plugin. And the person with the problem posted that the plugin caused other problems.
But since several months have passed, I'm wondering if there is a better solution. If someone could please help, I would appreciate it.

Was that person me?

Anyway you could try Glide64 0.8, but you'd have to use Mupen64 or 1964.

Edit: Actually I think there's no plugin that stops the flickering, apart from Unoffical Deadalus (last version).

Where can I find the plugins, though?

This is spooky, was playing WWF No Mercy for the first time in Aeons last night and noticed the exact same behaviour. Was going to report it later once I'd ascertained whether it was the core or plugin at fault.

hi i was wondering if the filckering is like starwars s/o/t/e
if so try this

Use Mupen64 0.5 for an emulator.
Use rice 5.6.0 for a video plugin. Set Current Game Options to
frame update at [at ci change]N64 frame buffer at [basic framebuffer]
and [basic render-to-texture] for rendering to texture.
Azimer's HLE Audio v0.56 WIP 1 for sound
with hacktarux-azimer hle rsp for the rsp plugin
and schibo's 1.2 b.o ultraHLE for the rsp sound.

it works great on the flickering in shadows of the empire.

just to let u know

Glide64 0.8 is... somewhere, there's a link posted in Emutalk news.

Unoffical Deadalus is posted in the plugins section.

Interesting... I just tried those settings with Rice Video 6.1.1. beta 10 and there's no flickering. The only problem is the game goes really slow outside, but there's no flickering so I'm guessing it must be a plugin problem

Edit: I just tried it in PJ64 and those settings stop the flickering!
