No controller?

I started playing Super Smash Bros. after I edited the controller config to fit my desire, but noow when I start up the rom, it tels be that there's no controller plugged in... What should I do?

Make Sure you have the controller plugged in clicked

When it says "none" on the drop down menu, u can select the name of the controller that u have plugged in.
