What's new

Next release will be a Rareware time

At your service, dood!
heres a suggestion and a question for ya Rice.

Suggestion:
Please consider implementing Pif2 Emulation for Jet Force Jemini (into 1964), Its a royal pain in the arse to play the cracked version. don't bother if its too difficult

Yet another (might be stupid too, said in other thread)
How about an Emulator controlled Audio sync? That would rock!

Question:
Will the framebuffer enhancements work with all video plugins or just yours? (silly question :p)

thanks.

FYI, Mystical Ninja has been emulated very well, just too slow. I do think anyone can make it fast enough to be playable without hacking which any plugin does not want to use. The game is programmed in a very bad manner, video plugin has to follow its steps to constantly load large textures, and slowing down everything.

And problem of DK64 is not in video plugin, but in emulator core. This game is using weired timing (between r4300i CPU and RSP/RDP), the timing is not actually emulated by emulator (and I don't think it could be accurately emulated), so DK64's problem may never get fixed. In fact, video plugins are working great. I hope new SixtyForce can play DK better.

Thanks for your explantation, now i have tried with the Apolo64 and the game works without glinches but too slow... very slow!

i get few glinches and camera is going in and out....

how fix???
how the best emu and plugin sets for DK64???

Doomulation

?????????????????????????
All plugins work good with dk64 methinks. With Jabo's, tick emulate clear (see manual) when playing to fix camera bug.
Any emulator should play this game just the same too i think.

I'd be super happy if the new SixtyForce could play Waverace and SuperMario64 better. Anything else working (MarioKart, GoldenEye, DK, 1080, Zelda..) and I'd be crying with happiness. Any inside info Rice? Think I'm going to be happy come Gerrit's birthday next week? If there is a release that is?!

as it's in there, his reply was a light hearted one... it was a request... if it had been spoken it would have been spoken in a gentle voice, not a demanding one..

Read between the lines people.. ;)

Not quite right. Some emulators emulate timing than others. I believe Apollo is better as Azimer is very good with RSP because of audio, and with its Apollo core.

People should keep bugging him for the dynamic compiler in Apollo.

Oh yeah, I meant that most emulators should "run" the game without much problems ^^
The problems lies in the gfx plugin, not the core. :)

wow very very impressive stuff rice. looks like ur plugin is very compatible and solid now. i should be back to my own pc on monday, so i can test all the new releases that ive missed over the past months. im gonna hav a lot of free time in the next 2/3 weeks cos im on half-term in an empty uni campus with nothing to do. so at last i can hav a play with nemu and urs and icepir8's latest plugins :) . theres only one game i can think of that i (think) no-one has tried to emulate yet, and thats rogue squadron (and possibly the Battle of Naboo, i cant remember). cos rogue squadron on multiplayer will be kick ass. anyway, good luck with the rare games, looks like ur great wuth ur plugin. all the best :D

Doomulation.

If you don't understand the inside story, then be quiet, don't say too much about something you have totally no idea. I am not trying to be rude, but I guess you don't know the timing problem between r4300i CPU core and RSP, and where the graphic glitches comes from in DK64. Not only the jumping problem which can be fixed by using emulate clear in Jabo, but the random triangle glitches in the whole game, that is caused the r4300i and RSP out of sync.

Rice, if know where is the problem why you don't do a adaptation or a workarround on the core to sync the r4300i and RSP for games like DK64... i know know it's not to easy... but i can emulate DK64 clear a fast but without audio on Apollo64, i beleave you are totaly capable to sync that... so if you are planing a final release... make it a icon of N64 Emulation!

:1964:

PS: Why not combine the goods of other emulator with opensource in one emulator... why everybody work on your emulator not togheter in one Emulator!

I thought someone said it was the gfx plugin, not core for the most issues or something...
Anyway, *bows*
I'll be quiet.

OK folks, remember that emulation is not supposed to be perfect.
The programmers are on their time and patience. They dont have to let us enjoy their creations, so play it cool.

You see how long it took Nemu64 to be updated?

Anyway's -- Excellent work Rice, Schibo. We love the job you've done, even if we do get greedy from time to time.:saint:

Yes it appears that emulation does take a long time to get going, unlike a video plugin that only takes 2 weeks or so to get under way, Icepir8 and Rice are dedicated to doing this. Many people do this during their spare time, If I new how to code, Id get involved into doig stuff for emulation as well, not necessarily N64.
It is interesting to emulate games.
Nemu64 went down for awhile, but its back up, but either way yes it takes awhile to edit and make an emulator better

If have something in the world that make me sick, is when someone start to talk about something that they don't know but they think they are saiyng something smart ("I heard something from this dude ... ", "I think I read this at ...").

It's not the first time that I see this kind of situation here in emutalk.net, it's sad and it's incredible anoiyng to read this kind of post.

EDIT: Forgot to say, keep the great work Rice, it's apreciated !
