As I haven't played the XBox version I obviously mean the PC, but AFAIK PD:Zero is a 360 game, so the comparison is valid.

Well yes and no.

It's a console that costs a fifth of what it would cost for a PC to produce similar graphics.

I'm clearly fogetting that if it was a Nintendo exclusive, you'd all love it. ;)

We're talking about a two years old game produced for a two years old hardware, versus a game produced for a next generation console that has a processing power that rivals some of today's best GFX cards. Gears of War for instance looks insane, PD:Zero just looks, well, good.

Not really, considering that I liked the design of PD but I didn't enjoy the game on the N64.

I actually hated the campaign mode on the n64, multi was pretty decent though, still couldnt' touch GE in my opinion. The original Perfect Dark's success was due partly to the fact that it is the closest thing to a GE sequel we were going to get.

Rare did well with the remake of conker, but can they produce something original and it be worth playing? They haven't done a whole lot for microsoft, time will tell. Allot of the rare employees that worked on GE and PD are now with Free Radical, creator of the timesplitters series.

I do wonder if I'm the only one who doesn't like that texture type. Bump-mapping IIRC.

Anyway, it looks like Halo. Very much so. Pretty but... meh?

Fine. I see overly shiny industrial looking area with uniformed men running and shooting and stuff exploding. And a space shuttle. Anyway, it certainly reminds me of Halo.

That's not Halo, that's---insert any FPS here---!

Yeah, because that's what defines Halo

For those with short attention spans, summary of the article is meh.

I wonder if Rare lost too much of it's old crew. :-/

[EDIT]Found a vid. Probably old hat by now. Looks very nice in motion but still has that nexgen 'TOO SHINY' look. The wall cover thing seems like a useless addition and the fears of Joanna becoming some Lara looking slut are also unfortunately well founded. I like how the context sensitive button is all the rage but the way they use it reminds me of the new Bond games from EA. No yay or nay on that subject (nay on "Goldeneye" though; fucking cashing in on the name).

Eh, not so much for me, I'll be the first to admit that I'm a nintendo fanboy, but shooters on consoles just don't do it for me. I kind of like the multiplayer in goldeneye, but I'll still take a PC FPS any day, I'm just too used to the tight controls.

Overall I'm sure it will get rave reviews and sell a billion copies because it has both ther RARE and the PD tag attached to it, regardless if it's actually a good game.

Meanwhile, I'll still be playing my PS2 because I'm too poor to pick up the 360 now.
