New Nintendo `Legends` TV Ad

Just saw the latest Nintendo `legends` television ad.

Metroid looks awesome, as does Resident Evil 0. But Zelda looks damn awful. I think we all know about my hate for the Zelda series, but it really does look shit! I bet you fanboys just hope it'll play better than it looks, eh?

But yeah, Metroid r0x0r..

If anyone cares, Famitsu gave it a perfect score, and only 2-3 other games have gotten that.

And it looks much better when you actually play it.

well.. as being one of the few here who seems to have played the game.. i'll tell you that the "movie"-sequenses and parts like that.. the parts of story.. look awfull.. i'll agree totally with that.. it's not that they look diferent.. but that they made them alot more cartoony than when your actually playing the game.. when you are playing the game.. hmm.. i dunno.. it feels and moves and looks and sounds way diferent.. it's like a really great version of OOT.. honestly you need to do the gameplay in this game b4 you really can say it's crap.. coz i'll agree that in the boat while travelling thru the islands and so on.. it's kind of weird.. the water can look abit funny and boring at times but when it get's windy it looks betta .. also.. the wind thing is trully there.. you can feel it all the time anywhere you are.. i dun wanna spoil anything.. but honestly.. it's a great game.. once you start playing it.. just looking at the intro and parts like that won't make you love it though.. and i haven't seen those adds your talking bout.. so i can't really say anything about those..

yep.. i know you do.. and that dun bugg me at all.. i have genres and series of games i dun like eather.. i can't remember any now coz i don't think about stuff i dun like often..

but what i mean is.. that it's kinda sucky that the add's that came out mostly show parts of the game that are more like a kids saturday morning show.. and a very childish one at that.. it's really something they should'nt have made an addvert on.. coz i mean.. the game is more of an experiance than a one glance eye candy feast that makes you go WOW!.. for me.. i find it incredible.. they have finally made a good 3D game.. one that even i like a whole lot.. i didn't play thru all of OOT.. i got bored mid-way.. and i only played the first day of majora.. i loved the SNES and NES zeldas though.. still know the maps better than i know eh.. alot of other stuff .. but after the SNES i haven't really liked the zelda games all that much.. this one though is great.. but like always.. this is nothing you should start to compare with RPG's.. coz it's just like zelda always has been.. an adventure game with some action and puzzels.. it's like when i was telling ppl how good Prime was.. alot of ppl got that game and thought it was an FPS.. it's not.. well it is.. but unless you've played it you don't really know what your getting into.. so ppl should'nt have expected a Quake copy..

Dude, with all due respect, I appreciate how you guys can love Zelda for what it is, but don't come here saying it looks great. Because it dosen't. Sure, for you Zelda fans it may be the best game you've ever played, and I can't argue with that. But you can't say it looks great, because it's not a matter of opinion, it's a matter of fact. And the fact is, Zelda looks, graphically, shit. Especially when put in a trailer with Resi and Metroid.<_<

actually man.. that is a matter of opnion.. my lil cousins love the look of it.. their only 8 and 10 but still.. the look apeals to them way more than any game out there.. these lil kids haven't played zelda games much b4.. they liked the OOT and MOM.. but they where to small to get anywhere when they where out.. so they just played them a lil bit at my place.. now they got themselfs a cube and are begging their parents every damn day and me and others in our familly too about getting them the game..

i like to remake the point.. that in game play.. the game DOES look great.. i'll agree that compared to RE it's not a great looker though.. but the game doesn't look like shit really.. it just looks very diferent and it'll be way harder for ppl to get used to it.. i can tell you this much.. in japan the game is loved by pretty much everyone who's ever played it.. and it's gotten some superb scores by the most renouned game mag in the world.. famitsu.. that included it's gotten a prize for it's look over there too.. so you can't really say it's shit..

like i said.. the non playing parts don't look like much.. but as soon as you take control of link and the camera starts moving.. you'll see what i'm talking about..

maybe this'll be a lil bit like a spoiler.. only you won't get exactly what i'm talking bout untill your playing that area in the game..

for example if you remember the beginning of a link to the past.. there's a part where you have a kind of similiar situation to the one after link awakes and finds his way to the castle..

while your playing that part with the cold rain and wind and dark night.. you get so very struck by the feeling of actually being there.. inside a link to the past.. you feel like.. this is how it would have looked.. if you actually had seen the SNES zelda in 3d.. and how it would have felt to be there.. you feel and it looks SO much like SNES zelda it's crazy..

Reading this kind of review makes me want to play this game even more... That very part of aLink to the Past was so catching...

A link to the past.. or Links awakening.. i'm refering to A link to the past .. very diff games.. and yeah.. the relashionships between link and zelda have been diferent a few times.. but it's like shigeru has said again and again.. it's NOT supposed to be the same link.. or zelda.. or ganon.. it's just the same ppl.. in a new story..
