Yes, cheats should be possible in later version. As stated above, we do have wireframe, it's quite useful for seeing if something is rendered, but not drawn to the screen. I'm not sure what you mean by alpha, but if you mean adjusting alpha on specific elements, I'm not sure if thats possible. I believe the developer's betas would have debugging built in, but I don't know if they would bother releasing a debug mode Dolphin to the public.

The public version of Dolphin just doesnt include the debug dialogs/memory/register editors...

A idea could be "quick fixer"
Example: a game needs to play a video ... but dolphin crashes while playing video ----> so we can disable (skip) the video and go in game. It could be possible for some more options (sounds,menues etc)

actually, I tried Wireframe on x64 and it's not working, need to talk to ector about that one

cheat codes arent ALWAYS used for making levels easier to beat.
cheats have helped us find so many new and interesting things (such as beta objects) in the n64 scene.
i think implementing cheats is a brilliant idea.
