Try Consumer Reports. That's a japanese sweep right there, over 4 categories. It's insane how well they engineer those things. As for used car value, Honda Civics reap freaking high prices, and for good reason.

About a year ago, my brother in law (who is also in the used car business) sold a 98 dodge neon that got its new owner killed. She wasn't paying attention and took a left turn when a van was oncoming, and it literally crushed the car like a tin can. The car didn't even get bumped sideways an inch, it just totally folded inwards. That would be one big reason why most dodge sedans have terrible safety ratings. If the car had a more sturdy safety cage it definitely wouldn't have been as bad.
