N64 to PC adaptor

Hey yall,

Im a noobie to these forums cuz I love N64 and just got an emulator. Now for my question,



What is a good adaptor that I can buy (THAT WILL ACTUALLY WORK) that will allow me to play N64 games on my emulator with my N64 controller?



I bought the BOOM N64/PSX one and it said it would work w/ XP but it didnt. If yall could help me make my BOOM adaptor work or recommend one that would work I would be very appreciative. THANKS!

I'd get an Adaptoid, which is just a N64-USB adapter.

One of the companies that has them is currently selling them on eBay (last I heard).

That seems like a good thing, but I dont think that it is compatible w/ Windows XP.

It would be just fine as well if I could somehow configure the BOOM adaptor for Windows XP. The product is supposed to work w/ XP. So if anyone else has encountered this problem I would HUGELY appreciate you telling me what to do to make it work. I dont want to have wasted my money. THANKS!

No you're wrong. It does work with XP. I have one, works great with my black original n64 contoller.

You might need the drivers which can be downloaded from the Adaptoid (I did, not knowing whether they'd be necessary or not) and I've had no problems using the Adaptoid with WinXP.

Plug it in. It doesn't really need more explanation than that. Does Windows recognize it?

The BOOM adaptor is supposed to be basically a plug and play for XP. When I first plugged it in it recognized it and said it installed the hardware. But when I go into game controller to calibrate it I cant. The wizard just skips through like I am hitting lots of buttons but Im not. That is the main problem. I cant calibrate it and thereby run it for my emulators.

The Boom adaptor has troubles with certain pads. Nothing you can do AFAIK apart from trying to check out a few other pads see if the problem exists there too.

The adaptoid btw works perfectly in XP

I have an adaptoid - the thing works like a dream, plug it in , install drivers - forget it even exists. Heck the input plugins even auto configure the controls for you

It is also compatible with rumble paks, memory paks etc
