N64 blurriness

Firstly thanks for a great emulator. PJ64 1.5 is definitely the best emulator for N64 as all my games run at constant 60 fps with little or no glitches, but its just this blurriness thats straining my eyes a little.

Is it normal to have blurry graphics when turning left or right? I cant remember if the real N64 was like this but is present in games like Mario 64, Zelda: OOT, Turok, Goldeneye and Perfect Dark. I am currently using Detonator 29.42 on my Geforce 3 Ti500 but have tried other earlier and later drivers but makes no difference.

E.g. of blurriness is when I move the joypad left/right in Zelda, I can see double image of whole background but link himself moves smooth. I tried it with keyboard and same happens. ???

I've tried changing buffers, with and without aniso. filt and anti-aliasing but still same. Btw Aniso. Filt. does make it a hell of a lot smoother in games like castlevania as blurriness in not so prominent in this game so it plays/feels like a proper PC game which absolutely rocks at 1280 x 960. :)

I also tried changing refresh rate but I now stick with it at 60 Hz with vsync on since all games are running at 60 fps. All roms are Good (U) !.

Does this happen to other PJ64'ers? If not please help.

Cheers.

Cpu = athlon xp 1800+
Ram = 512 MB DDR
O/S = Win 98:SE
Soundcard: SB Live

I thought that it could be my monitor as it is about 2 years old now, but then the same would happen in PC games like UT, MOH:AA, Undying which they don't, hence I thought that maybe its because PJ is an emulator. But then I noticed there aren't any posts like this on this board so it could be my PC setup.

Hmm....I'll try changing desktop to 16 bit (dont know where this idea came from), if it works I'll let you know.

And thanks for the quick response.

a screenie would definitely help with this "fuzzyness" problem... maybe someone would be able to help you a little better.

Hmm. This is weird. I took screenshots whilst moving in zelda whilst the screen looked blurry but the screenshot appeared clear without blurriness.

Damn, I don't know what the heck is going on.

In the screenie you can see some ladders and the killer plant as single clear objects. Well I just noticed that in game I don't see a double image, it is in fact a triple image, so I constantly see 6 vertical parts of the ladder instead of 2 (left and right side) and also 3 plants instead of the 1 plant when moving.

I hope this is clear to understand.

Damn, I can't attach the screenshot as its 293 kb and 280kb is limit of attachment (printscrn then pasted onto word - if I use F3 bmp images then they're over 1MB). :sleepy:

Erm, how do I make it smaller in size? If you understand what I'm talking about then screenshot might not be necessary.

Also, if you are using a flatscreen monitor it may be causing it (unless the bluriness is in the shot, because it just takes what's in VRAM..)
