I don't have low performance needs i acctualy have high perf. needs. But i am a master of the 5200. I can make it work at full perf. without any trouble(exept when it starts drawing all the cpu power and i have to restart the explorer).
Even the full power of the FX 5200 is no power.
I had two of them, the 64 bit/128meg and the 128bit/256meg versions and i am happy to say that now i´m on a radeon 9600 XT, FX 5200 is entry level, not designed to high performance in gaming, being the FX series one of the worst series of GeF, the FX 5200 is really bad business.
It depends on which generation you refer to, once upon a time 3dfx was king of the hill, and nowadays few people even know what they were. The GeForce MXs were bad cards no doubt, but there are certainly worse cards. Also, if it wasn't for nVidia's new naming scheme, the FX5200 and GeForce 6200 would've been MX cards.
Naw, all MX's are really rebranded GeForce 2 cards, and GeForce FX/6 series use a totally updated architecture. It is only the performance which they have in common (apart from 6200 - it has good performance if 128 -bit)
