I have version 0.3 for my Mac Osx but i think Im missing out on all the new features. My emulator runs slow, and does not emulate sound, even though i have a fast imac g4. If anyone has compiled Mupen 64 for Mac os X with new features and faster/ sound emulation. I would greatly apprieciatte a copy. Otherwise, if anyone could take the time to explain to me how to compile it myself, that would be good as well.
Thanks, and i hope for a reply

Much of the emulator would have to be rewritten. The GUI portions would have to be ported to Cocoa, for exmaple. Unless you used Darwinports or Fink. In which case, you'd get to keep the native gtk gui and very little would have to be rewritten, but I suspect performance might suck, because you'd have to run X11 to play. Maybe it wouldn't be too bad. I have a friend who ports a lot of stuff (mostly ruby apps) to Darwinports. I'll ask him about it.

no, you should just use flea's code for the gui, it's been published on emuscene.com forum if i remember right.

How much was updated with 0.4? Just the core? would there be a need to recompile plugins as well or are the binaries included in Flea's 0.3 up to date?

All I want is a version of Mupen 64 for mac where I could run the games at basically fullspeed and actually get sound quality going. I would use sixtyforce, another mac emulator, however it does not run fullscreen without paying. So, if anyone could tell me y my sound emulation does not work, or if there will ever be a new version of mupen for mac osx that would be great.

Well I got the thing ported. I am still working on it; somethings still need to be added such as bundle mach-o plugin support.

If you want it as-is just post back.

Oh and the dynamic recompiler still does not work.
Interpreter works but its not the fastest.

You can cheat sixtyforce's fullscreen by zooming your whole desktop in on that window by pressing command option equals sign and zoom out with command option minus sign.

And to get controllers working, just map your controller buttons to keys on your keyboard. Who says you should pay. ;)
