Describe the Problem: Long delay before the GUI options appear if and when running a ROM.

How to reproduce the problem is to select a menu when a ROM is running.

This is not a bug. The game need to be paused when a menu is clicked. Pausing a game takes sometime at different games, it won't be a problem for normal games, but could take longer time if you are running a game which is barely supported.

Such an activity is controlled by a global variable. But it is not (it used to be) accessible throught GUI.
