-Force Normal Blending helps with shadow issues
-Force Depth Enable for players
in D3D8 v1.6 plugin the following applies:
-Force Alpha Blending helps with shadow issues
-use D3D transform pipeline may be very much faster
-replays may look a bit better than in D3D6 v1.5.2
-resolution detection is worse e.g. on title screens than D3D6 v1.5.2
