If you're using jabo's direct3d8 1.6, it isn't a missing effect, its insufficient video hardware to view it. It definitely works for me.

Is this the point at which you find the Skull Kid on top of the clocktower and get back your ocarina?

If it is, I had the same problem. The screen fades, like Link is about to remember something, then just stays white while the text explaining how Link is remebering the moment he was first given the ocarina.

This was using PJ64 1.5 though....

With a video card that supports pixel shader 1.1 and above all of the cutscenes should now be visible and rendered properly in both Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask.

I believe if your video card does not support pixel shaders you will get what you are describing, a black screen. I do not know how other video plugins fare so you may have to do some testing to see if any of them can handle the effect without requiring pixel shaders.

I highly doubt it. Pixel shaders only really came about after or around the time of the ati 9000+

On Ati's side a Radeon 8500 or anything higher will have the pixel shader support neded.
On nVidia's side I believe a Geforce 3 or higher will have the pixel shader support needed.

Your Rage would fall below the first Radeon in terms of features and performance, and that in turn falls below the Radeon 8500. So that's a rather old card you have there.

As for the other companies I'm really not all that sure... I know Intel has a rather new chipset that supports pixel shaders, but I doubt many of the members have this product...

I have a TNT2. Happily, the Ocarina of time video (when Zelda tell the story near the end) is shown. BTW my pixel shader isn't supported
