I've never had this problem. I'd suggest you verify the rom with GoodN64 and check that all of PJ64's settings are all default using the latest RDB file.

where can I go to talk to GoodN64?
You didn't read the PJ64 User Manual, didn't you?

The manual explains verifying ROMs with GoodN64. GoodN64 is another program that you must download. It's available here at ET in the downloads section.

The PJ GameFAQ (or the latest beta one, at least) also address the Goron's Mask issue.

^I haven't seen that version of the GameFAQ, so this is merely my own knowledge:

This is a hardware issue (related to integrated video or something of similar quality), and I don't think there's ever been any sort of workaround. You're using Jabo's Video v1.6 plugin, right? You could try a few others, like Direct64, Glide64, Rice's plugin, etc.

Actually, a search confirmed what I was thinking - this problem pops up fairly often. You should always try to search these boards, because this issue is nothing new. (however, in THIS topic someone says Jabo's Video v1.4 doesn't have this error, elsewhere people say PJ64 v1.4 and earlier doesn't have this error as well)
Of course, us types who spend money on video cards don't get this problem on any version.

yeah, just a note that, if v1.4 doesn't crash it's probably not emulating it right (?).. so the advice would be to use a different graphics card or different plugin. it would be better if the newer plugin handled it more gracefully, but we probably didn't because none of us have these really low end video cards.

btw "where can I go to talk to GoodN64?" is probably the funniest comment i've read in here in a while :)
GoodN64 is a program/database for verifying roms, this is explained in the manual and other places..
