Keyboard Issue on Smash Bros.

Whenever I'm playing Super Smash Bros. a seemingly random issue with my keyboard seems to occur. The arrow keys only allow very small movements, not the full range as usual. And this happens seemingly at random, the game will work fine for a few weeks then just.. this happens. However oddly, when i load an older saved game file the controls work perfect on that file, however the current one never seems to work. Any ideas on how to fix this, i don't want to keep making new saved files to unlock all the characters to just have to this occur again. My settings for the keyboard where never touched and I've tried resetting them to defaults. Please help.

You must remember: the N64 games were meant to be played only with an N64 controller, anything otherwise could cause glitches along those lines. I suggest if you can't get an adaptoid and an original N64 controller, just get one that has an analog stick, and you should be fine.

Oh, and are you using game saves instead of native ones? That can also cause some problems with the game, it's recommended that for the most part you save only the way you do on the N64.

Well it works fine for the most part, the keyboard never seems to be the issue. This also affects the AI players as well, not just me.

Is the ROM you are playing with verified with a "(!)" at the end?

there's a sensitivity slider by the controller input maybe tweek it when it acts up????
