Will Dolphin's Next release take advantage of Shader Model 3.0? Because it can dramatically improve graphics, and maybe even speed a little bit .

I don't think Shader model 3.0 offers anything over 2.0 except for speed of execution - and well Dolphin is CPU limited.

I must place empthasis on 'think' though I could be totally wrong.

SM 3.0 is just a feature of video cards. It allows special effects to be done on graphics such as reflective water....

SM 3.0 was introduced with the Geforce 6 series.

As far as i know, dolphin requires SM 2.0 to run properly.

Cards without the proper SM will show incorrect graphics in dolphin. Most likely things will turn out black & white where shaders are used.
