Hey, I'm sorry, but I've heard of MANY things and just want help finding truths. First of all, I've heard of programs that you can use to give your sound a surrounding feel. Now, I have surround sound, but I mean stadium sound simulation, theater simulation, and many other neat things. Is there really a program like this? If there is, where can I download it? Second, I've heard of 3D glasses emulation. If there is such a thing, where I heck can I download it? Also, if it's real, then where do I get 3D glasses from? It's not like I know how to make a pair myself. Third, is there REALLY a FREE internet accelerator which can lower your ping and improve netplay? Thanks everyone, please reply.

Some sound cards some with software that can do a bunch of 3d sound stuff. Like sound blaster (Creative) cards. Their cards usually come with some software that can do some snazzy stuff with sound. Surround or not. Not sure about 3d glasses though. My experience with those is that it causes too much eye strain, so I don't use them. :)

3d glasses: most of the ones (which came bundled with GF2Ultras etc) work on by flickering at 100Hz, and tricking your eyes into seeing depth by going slightly crosseyed... needless to say, most people find that after a certain length of time it starts to hurt. I'd stay away.

On my Audigy 2 I've got a sound panel with a ton of different sound settings. The majority of them (theatre, dance hall etc) are just eq/reverb effects and frankly a waste of space.

If you're on 56k, nothing is going to speed you up. Some broadband connections can be optimised, however.
