I have ran pj64 for a while, but somehow it recently got deleted...anywho, I keep getting an error message when trying to run pj64, or load a rom.

Direct3d failed to initialize your HAL device make sure you have properly configured 3D graphics card compatible with Direct3D 6.

Well, it's worked before so...

Have you installed DX9? If so that could be the problem. I would try to reinstall DX9, as they are releasing bug fixed versions. I had this problem with Rice's DX8 configuration.

I had a similar problem, but it was with Direct Sound and I
was receiving Direct Sound init failure messages.

Until I ran the DirectX 9 installation process again, the only way
to avoid a Direct Sound init failure was to
disable audio acceleration!!! That meant all my games had
stuttering audio, slow and jerky!!! :(

It also caused Project64 1.5 to flip out with the error message
that the audio plugin is missing or invalid. :(

The above occured unless I disabled audio acceleration
or ran the DirectX 9 installation process again. :(

I randomly got Direct X probs with DX 9.0 as well but I just got 9.0a and the probs appear to be fixed. Very odd.

Doomulation

?????????????????????????
Maybe microsoft fixed something for once :D :p
Anyway, while using 3dmark 2001, installing dx9 sometimes caused problems with old versions....support said you should try to reinstall it and it should be solved.

Maybe re-installing dx9 can solve the issue? :plain:
