What's new

I've ALMOST completely made my Windows PC look like a Mac...any more ideas?

Yo. I've been working all day on getting my Windows XP system to appear to the untrained eye as a Mac OS X and I've almost completed the transformation. The problem is, it still FEELS like Windows too much, and I know that there's still something about it that's not complete. If you guys could tell me how good it looks so far and tell me what I need to do to finish the illusion, I'd really appreciate it.

grr....everyone asks that! lol. Did it ever occur to you that maybe I like Windows, but like the Mac style? Everyone just tells me to buy a Mac, but I don't really like their software too much and I don't feel that it's quite worth the money. Can you help me, or not? I'm sorry for being rude, but you didn't even say anything remotely related to this thread. Just please, help.

you know ... it walks like a duck and it sounds like a duck so chances are its still a duck, no matter how you dress it up.

Your doesn't look like a mac because it's just a big mess ;)
Also, your dock looks really really horrible. Try to find som PNG packages and replace the icons.

Semi-offtopic but I'm interested in seeing how much progress PearPC will have over the next few years. There've been x86 emulators for the Mac for a while now, about time there's the opposite.

If you use Linux, install Enlightenment Window Manager, and then download and install a skin called Aqua

You can get a cute 'lil 12 inch ibook with 256 mb ram + ATI radeon 9200 + DVD/CD-R combo for $1100 (or $1000 w/ a student discount). My brother had used PC's for his whole life... but decided to buy it because it looked cool, and he really likes it.

Or you could get some clear transparent plastic and draw some icons on it with felt tip pen - then simply cellotape it over the screen. Viola - you now have a groovy Apple Mac style interface :) Just hide regular icons under the ones you have drawn to give the feeling of them actually working.

And you should also uninstall your sound card and GFX card, so that no games will work on your PC - just like on a real Mac!
