France eh... nothing wrong with France; Can't believe people still care to argue the pointless debate about Bush sucking or not... it's over now, not that I like the man or all that rubbish in afgan/iraq... but He's in power for 4 more years so I have decided to judge his based apon his actions the next 4 years, also decided that theres no point moaning about the last 4 years now, they already happened.

Suck or not, Bush is here to stay, and theres plenty of other people to hate in the mean time.. what about Bin laden? Hate him ;)

I am not trying to argue about whether or not Bush is bad. Every time I hear somebody talk about that these days I just ignore the conversation. All I do is point out neo-fascism when I see it.

Michael Moore is a prime example these days, as I noted on another forum:

Michael Moore falls into a variation of fascism that has evolved into something that sounds more acceptable than classic fascism. If you disagree with him then you are a stupid redneck and everybody hates you, even if your oppinions are otherwise perfectly valid. Also Michael Moore is clearly racist against white people (in spite of being white himself, definitely not a first for a political pundit.) He also constantly uses propaganda, and he specifically targets people who aren't educated about politics at all.

i hate to poke that bubble, but calling michael moore a fascist or the likes is just as stupid as doing that to the republican party. its just primitive black and white thinking that is so widespread these days. want an example? most of the accusements in that quote also apply to the bush administration (e.g. using propaganda and targeting dense people ... bible belt anyone?). about being racist against white people ... i laugh

The difference is that Michael Moore has shown clear direction in that area though, the claims about the republican party in that area are anecdotal at best.

You don't see Bush saying "God says you must vote for me" or "(pick your favorite race here) are a bunch of assholes"

of course you have to filter everything moore claims, but then he _is_ a satirist. the problem is he is actually seen as a serious political commentator, which is far off. but neo-fascist tenedencies...where the hell did that come from?

regarding bush, he does say (and i quote): "either you are with us (e.g. the ruling party) or with the terrorists" and that god told him to invade iraq. in fact he _loves_ to appeal to that highest authority in his favor. that may be more the indirect way but it was the same core message of "god says you must vote for me". bush, like moore, also uses very simple reasoning to target the uninformed and uneducated person. really, i think bushs and moores methods are pretty alike in alot of respects...

calling people assholes is dick cheneys job after all ;)

Meh...
The only thing I got out of this thread was people arguing over whether Kerry is a douche or Bush is a turd. :p And some paranoid dude that says the media is hypnotizing us to kill all for their products...

It's all fucking over, no point in arguing. If you have a problem with Bush, plan an assassination attempt by sending him a bag of pretzels. If you have a problem with Kerry, steal his purple hearts. ;)

As for my opinion, Kerry is a flip-flopping indecisive hypocrite. At least Bush sticks to one thing despite him being horribly bad with English, at least he admitted he's bad with English. Bush has more balls than Kerry.. so I now come to the conclusion that Bush would be a better president out of the 2 idiots. Bush is the better idiot :D.

And all went so well with that election... yessir, no cheating or strange occurences whatsoever. :saint:

"I've read dozens of submissions about election anomolies in the last week and they show no sign of slowing so I've decided to post a few of the main ones here to let you all discuss them. The first is the Common Dreams report that shows that optically scanned votes have a strange anomoly in florida: the Touchscreen counties roughly matched up to party registration numbers, but optically scanned paper ballot counties showed strangeness like one county where 69.3% registered democrat, but only 28% of them voted for Kerry. Palm Beach County, Florida logged 88,000 more votes than there were voters; that machines in LaPorte, Michigan discounted 50,000 voters; in Columbus, Ohio voting machines gave Bush an extra 4,000 votes; in Broward County, Florida voting machines were counting backwards; Lastly, precincts in New Mexico gave provisional ballots that will never be counted to as many as 10% of all their voters." :whistling

Interesting stuff. Stay tuned for more... Tales... of... INTEREST!
No not really, but certainly worth debating.
(most worrying Futurama reference ever) ;)

Both sides try to commit fraud during the election.

The slashdot coverage is valid, as is the report, the fact that CNN has reported the stories, as has yahoo, various newspapers of the non-tabloid variety... I'd go on but you're only into your own opinions anyway. Besides, I never said I thought the polls were skewed with cheating from one side because it's almost certain that both sides had a few tricks. The fact that the overwhelming majority of it does seem to indicate that there was something funny going on in the key states can hardly be dismissed as whining, as this very strongly affects the final outcome. Even if Bush did still win it comes down to these final pieces and gives an even narrower margin of victory. "Clear victory (and a mandate from) the American people?" (Bush's words more or less)?
Two percent is hardly a clear victory, and now it looks like being even less than that.
Unless you're suggesting we dismiss factual irregularities from a debate as long as the outcome also reflects your personal opinions..?

When two percents are three and a half million people, I'd say yeah, that's a pretty fucking clear victory.

Perhaps good advice for everyone. Moderators included.

EDIT: New news...
"Attorney General John Ashcroft announced he will resign, according to multiple news sources. While many here dislike him, others have more favorable opinions of him. He became the point man on the USA Patriot Act, which typically ignites harsh opinions on both sides of the aisle." Reader cnsc1rtr , referring to the AP's version of the story, writes "He gave Bush a five-page, handwritten letter in which he stated, 'The objective of securing the safety of Americans from crime and terror has been achieved.'"

Right, well that was Bush's whole shebang for the last and next four years... now that's settled can we throw that crazy guy out of the White House? :p
