I don't get it. I've got 512 ram, 2.4ghz and a geforce4 mx 420. SHouldn't I be able to play games like diddy kong racing at full speed?

I've tried everything. I use Jabo's 1.51 plug in and I still can't get the game to run at 60 fps. I even uninstalled the entire program and deleted the folders and reinstalled it and now i'm getting around 40-50fps. The intro to the game gets all choppy. I even put my counter factor to 1 and it still doesn't help. Does anyone know what the settings should be for the best speed in this game?

Yeah, try to clear up you running processes. You can also try lowering the graphics settins. I can get it working fine, even with multiple apps running, and I have a geforce2, 256 ram, 1GHz pentiumIII.

I don't have any backgruond programs running and my computer is only using about 4% of its capacity when there are no programs running.

I'm asking what the best roms settings are including which counter frame to use, which boxes to click, etc.

I've tried different plugins...jabo's gives me the best performance...and 40 fps isn't bad, but i'd like to run up to full speed like everyone else has managed to do with a weaker system.

I just "got" it and I'm averaging around 85 fps. I'm no expert, but I'd make sure you aren't using self-rendered textures option of the buffer textures option. Maybe you need to update some drivers or something, idk.

And cable internet is worth every penny! It used to take me a week to "get" a game and now it takes me about 2 minutes! :)
