Is there a way to disable error messages?

I'm playing the Legend of Zelda, Ocarina of Time with Project64 and I'd like to use Video Gamer X's Debug Code. To use this "debug code", you use any of a number of glitches in the game to make it crash, and then you press the controller buttons in a certain order. When you "crash" the game on the n64 console, a yellow bar appears at the top left of the screen and it is at this point that you can press the sequence of buttons on the controller. When you "crash" the game on the Project64 emulator, however, an error message pops up and you have to reset to keep playing the game. Is there any way to make it so that Zelda will crash on Project64 the same way it does on the Nintendo64 console so that I can enter the debug code?

I've seen screenshots of the debug code before so there has to be some way to use it on an emulator. It's a really well known code so I'm surprised no one has brought this up before. I can't tell you what a pain it is to hook up my n64 every time I want to use the debug code. If anyone has any information on how to use it with an emulator I'd really appreciate it.

Pretends to make sense
I believe I read about this on a Zelda hacking forum. Apparently it's impossible to activate the debugger on an emulator because the debugger is actually part of the N64 hardware rather than something built into OoT. So no, I don't think there is a way to get it working on any current N64 emulator. The "screenshot" you saw probably came from a video capture device.
