Is RSP of Project 64 file essential for 1964?

Do I really need this RSP file in order to fix some games issuessuch as Zelda (background issue) ? I heard we don't need that anymore 'cause new 1964 supports that internally in its core. Is it correct?

It is not needed for zelda background. Only in 1964 0.8.5.

Yes, 1964 supports JPEG decompression, but not LLE audio. So you don't need RSP plugin for the zelda background, but you do need a RSP plugin if you are using a LLE audio plugin such as Jabo's, Basic Audio or Azimer's LLE.
