hey, everyone! as you all may notice, im new here, but i've browsed the site for a few hours now, and it seems really cool here but anyways, i have a question for any kind souls who are willing/able to answer.
and i apologize if this is the wrong forum for this question, but i figured that this ones a good start.
ok, heres the BASIC question:
is it possible to take some script from a game and apply it somewhere else? (basically to copy and paste it)
now heres the more SPECIFIC question:
is it possible to take the script from Ocarina of Time that controls the animation of the Pause Menu and (possibly translate it into another programming language) use it in another program?
btw, im sorry if some of what im saying/asking doesnt make a lot of sense. im trying to ask questions about something i dont know much about, but bear with me, if you could
heres an EXPLANATION of what im trying to do:
i dont know how many of you all are familiar with the program DesktopX, but in short, its a program designed to allow a user to create objects on his/her desktop.
so what im ultimately trying to do is to have a button on the desktop which, when pressed, brings up the Pause Menu from OoT on the desktop. right now i have it so that when the button is pressed, the single-frame image of the Pause Menu shows up. heres a pic:

what i want to have happen, is that when the button is pressed, that instead of just having the Pause Menu image show up, have the Pause Menu go through the same animation it does in the game (in OoT, when you press start and the Menu goes through a few frames of animation).
ONE of the ways i've thought of doing this would be to take the script for the Pause Menu's animation from the OoT ROM and put it into DesktopX (which allows a user to use scripting for the button). this is where i need your help.
now i dont know if this is even possible, but id greatly appreciate it if i could get some kind of feedback on this monster-of-a-post. if you all have any questions or need any clarification on what im trying to do/ask, please feel free to ask, because i want to be as clear as i can so that you all can better understand what im asking (aka helping you to help me ).
thanks in advance to anyone who responds (or even makes it through reading all of this )!
