is it possible to run perfect dark smoothly?

i have played around with all plugins and rom setting i can find. i have intel celeron 1.8 ghz with 512mb ram. i have tried using ge force 4 card. but i just cant get perfect dark in particular to run smoothly. its very jerky and the sound stutters every 3 seconds. ive spent ages trying to work out why my friend with worse specs than me gets better perfomance?
is it possible to run perfect dark and similar games near flawlessly? please tell me how.:(

Hey man, can u post links to the INI files and plugins? Or, if you would email me, maybe you could send um to me if you wouldnt mid. Who knows, Maybe I got some "stuff" you want, or maybe we can play some PD on kaillera after I get it to run good. I would really appericiate it man. :cool:

OH well... PD plays wonderful on the right machine 2GHz P4 w/Radeon 7500 :)

Heh...kaillera? That would be cool. (Ive never actually got it WORKING before, though) Lets discuss ROMs in email...wouldn't wanna piss off any of the moderators/admins :/ (ermm, are we allowed to discuss ROM trading in the forums?) Anyway, here is my compilation of plugins used to get PD (and everything else) working smoothly.

hey valek,
well i read your old post on perfect dark and it helped steady the running of the game when i got the new 1964.exe. but im still not understanding how you get a steady 60fps with this game, i get like a steady 49 fps. as for other games like mission impossibe, steady isnt the word.

PD saves?

Can someone either e-mail me a mem pak save for PD with all the multiplayer stuff unlocked, or post it here? I really love the MP, but I dont want to go thru all that again for the stuff I earned once before. Also, I cant find my rumble/memcard combo anywhere. Could someone please help me out? Valek?... Anyone? Many thanks if you could help me here.:D

Thanks pj64er, but how do I use it? It's a .n64 file, but how do I load it with the emulator? Does it need converted somehow, or renamed?

How to use the save???

What do I rename the dexdrive save as? The file I dl'ed is called perfect_dark_asmodeus.N64, and I have 2 files in my save folder for PD as is. One is Perfect Dark-41F2B98FB458B466.eep, and the other is Perfect Dark-41F2B98FB458B466.m0. So what do I gotta do?

Ok... I have tried to load it as the mempak, no go. I even extracted the save note from it and put it into another mempak file, and that wont work, I cant even extract a file that I know was good and re-insert it and have it work. Here is the save file I amtrying to make into a mempak, or at least load as one, but neither worked for me thus far. !!!Perfect Dark Save, all stuff unlocked!!! If someone could help me , that'd be great. Dunno what is up. I load it as the mempak, and it even shows the pd save on it, but it still wont work. I cant even extract notes or insert them into mempak files at all, for any file. I appericiate any help you guys give me.:thumbsup:

again, which version of perfect dark do you have? the save that you got is meant for the North American version of the game, you may have the European version of PD.

also, make sure you are using the latest Nrage input plugin (version 1.81).

If you did it right, the agent name in the agent select screen should be 'Janus'.

I am using the Perfect Dark (U) (V1.1) [!] version of the game and also have the (v1.0). Is that the right version? Its the USA version. And I am using the newest plugin, so I dont see why it wont work for me.

Can Someone Help me Please?

Hey guys. Can someone do me a huge favor? Could you please take that dexdrive save I posted and make it into system mempak? For some reason I cant get any dexdrive saves to work with any plugin at all. I set it as my mempak fine and all, but then it wont load in game, and the games that tell you that you have a damaged or corrupt mempak keep trying to fix it, so It just wont work. I would really like to play PD with all the stuff I worked forever to earn all that time ago, but dont have the time to play all that again. I would really appericiate it. I tried to do it myself, but I cant get it to work right. My plugins save the notes wrong and they are fuxord. Thanks for your help guys :D

sorry i kinda figured he was talking about the Rom itself, cuz the extension .n64 is usually an extension for an n64 rom
