Interesting freezing problem

First, my specs:

P3 667 mHz
512 mb. RAM
GeForce 2 GTS 32.
Soundblaster Live
Windows XP
Latest sound and video drivers.

OK, the game I'm trying to play is Zelda: OoT. The problem is it keeps freezing (mouse doesn't even move anymore, have to press reset). It freezes at totally random places, but usually about 5-10 minutes into playing.
I'm using the default plugins except for audio, I'm using Azimer's 0.30 revision 2.2. I've tried every version of PJ64 WITH PROTECT MEMORY ON or OFF and the game still freezes. Besides the protect memory, I'm using all the default settings (although I've tried other settings, to no avail).
I decided to try 1964 and it froze just the same with all the default settings and the same plugins as mentioned above.
Now here's the interesting part:
I had 1964 open just in the rom browser while searching this forum for an answer to my problem, and the computer froze the same way as with playing Zelda. ?!!?
If i should be asking this in the 1964 forum, sorry. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks

I think it is too, but it has to be a combination of the emulator and my computer, because it NEVER freezes except when an emulator is running.
Smiff, what kind of bios settings? Any other suggestions?

Freezing is usually caused if overclocking your cpu, gfx card, etc...
Try to undo this is you've done it.

OK, I think I've narrowed it down. After a lot of testing with the plugins, it seems as though it freezes with Jabo's Direct3D plugins. I left it running with with the Open GL plugins in 1964 for about an hour and it didn't freeze. Unfortunately, the Open GL plugins run like ass, so I'd like to be able to use the Direct3D ones.
I have DirectX 8.1b installed.
Any ideas?

dude i get the same thing and it pisses me off soo much. i dont know what it is but when you set it to agp 2x mode or 1x mode it doesnt freeze the only thing is that the bandwith is half. it only does it with direct3d with me as well i can play quake 3 for hours and nothing happens but when i play pj64 ( or any other direct3d program for that matter ) it just locks up

and Glide64: once again, the resolution is your preferance, and your cpu/gfx speed :) but keep "new buffer swapping method" OFF! caused me 5 or more fps drop, and hella jerkiness ;)

Sure you got latest evoodoo? The new buffer swap method runs like a dream for me. BTW, newest is 3.25.
