Impessed With Nintendo 64

Id just like to say how amazed I am that after nearly 10 years? the Nintendo 64 still attracts so many gamers to it. Of course im not on about the original console but the emulators for it.

I think the emulators have extended the consoles life exceptionally. More or less every day you see some new member on this forum asking questions about how to run the emulators, which proves the console is still very popular even today.

I think it's a great testament to Nintendo for creating such a magnificant console, that every day more and more people play those classic N64 games on there PC.

Keep it up Nintendo! :pj64: :bouncy:

yeah .. that's probably right what u were saying, but don't think that's the only "extended-life console", remember the playstation that is here since '95
at least, i never had the chance to play on a N64 but i use PJ64 nowadays=]

I had a N64 for 4 years. Sadly I've traded it for another console, right in the wave of good game releases (Banjo-Tooie, TWINE). I couldn't live with it, the game cartridges were hell expensive. Plus the analog stick is a pain in the ass, I hate when the controller gets old and the stick gets inaccurate.
But I like it too. :)

Yeah if it weren't for the crummy sticks I'd still be using my N64, but unless someone releases a controller with a better stick (unlikely,) I'll use emulators for now.

You gotta remember that the N64 was the first to do analog. It was like a beta. (I think so anyways? I don't know my stuff very well ;).) Also, think Japan. I know someone who just came back from Japan after a long while, and (s)he says that the Nintendo 64 console is dead over there - but EVERYONE has a PS1 and new games come out for it all the time.

N64 is my favorite console! Although it lacks a lot of games, like Metroid, more MegaMans (why the "to be continued" on the final of MegaMan 64???), Street Fighter... But it really brought a new and unforgetable gaming experience to all of us players.

why the "to be continued" on the final of MegaMan 64???

Because it is the same game as Megaman Legends for PS1, it goes "to be continued" because there is a Megaman Legends 2 for PS1.

I hadn't played my console for years just because i hated having to keep setting it up. Now since i found the emulator i play it heaps. Having 4 or 5 consoles drives you insane setting them up to play them.

N64 is better on a computer with a Gamecube Controller, Super Joybox 13, and Project 64! I can actually do a turn-around jump in Super Mario 64 like 45 times in a row. The stick on the GameCube controller is so much better.

EDIT: If anybody knows where I can find a 4 player GameCube to USB controller hookup, either post here or PM me.

Why not make your own thread dedicated to the topic?

why did you have to keep setting it up. just leave it hooked up and no problems. i have my nes, genesis and sega cd, ps1, and dreamcast all hooked up on the same tv.

Don't they get all tangled up and messy. I was forever trying to untangle my N64 controllers let alone all the others.
