Hey everybody!
It is I Malcolm and I am here to deliver some news. I’m getting away from this whole Emu scene thingy for a while, I’m going to be working full time and I’m also doing the summer and night school stuff. I’ll be visiting ya’ll from time to time but I’m not going to be on IRC nor EmuTalk as much as I have been this past year (or year and a bit… whatever).
I’m going to give you My Story on how I became a staff member @ Emu64 and EmuTalk…
My journey started many moons ago (when the VooDoo2 was a new video adapter); I played around with the emulators of the time (Corn, Nemu and UltraHLE) with my VooDoo2 and was very content. UltraHLE could play Zelda OoT and Corn/Nemu could handle the smaller games, life was good.
I was very impressed with what had been going on with the emulators and I wanted to contribute somehow, so I began like all the n00bs, I created a cheap 2 colour site. 2 frames, same background colour and no magical JavaScript or CSS stuff. I was now leet, yes, leet. Not 1337 or l33t, I was leet. The site was called Emulation Station.
Now after the creation of my lame site I decided to go steal content from other sites that dealt with Emulation, why reinvent the wheel right? I found Emulation64 first, with their horrid looking Black on Orange colour scheme and really horrible “made-up” names.
So I copied their content to the letter, even the copyright info @ the bottom of each page (damn I was such a n00b). I waited a few days later, wanted to read through everything to make sure that if I was asked a question about the content I’d have some sort of answer. Next day I revisited Emu64 and I see a new layout, I say to myself “Holy shit, these morons made a nice looking site, took’um f*cking long enough”, I also see like 20 posts from “Flow``”, I was amazed; I had to find out how they did it!
I go to the side bar, check the IRC networks (did I mention I was a warez Kiddie too?) and the IRC channel and connect my crazy self. I talk to Redah and someone else (can’t remember who). They tell me Flow`` is an online web news fetcher. I ask if I can have a nice copy, ask BraveHeart they say, this went on for quite a while till I figured that they were fooling me and that… well ya know how you guys are
.
So I dropped the site idea and continued on my marry way laughing @ friends who actually bought a N64 while I was here playing it in little resolution but for free!
A month or so later Martin posts on his site that he needs some staff to look after the DC emulation portion of the site, I apply and get accepted *w00t to me*!
Now not owning a DC I immediately go out and buy on right, nope. I sat on my ass and did nothing, and to this day I don’t really post any news about anything Emu related, why should I we have the Flow`` news fetcher right
.
Well that’s my magical story about how I became staff @ Emulation64, if you liked this story press 1 and receive the story on how I became Emulation64 Cheats staff!
As an end note, I’ll still be around, and I’m always checking my email if you guys need anything. This also isn’t a permanent thing, it’s only till I hit college (beginning of January).
Now as an added bonus I’ll have a nice little something something for the Emu community when I get back, so stay glued to your seats you only have around 199 days till my complete return! And I’m not leaving till the 19th!
PS: Just so you dont worry, I still will be having fun, just not with all you fine peoples. Yes, I'm talking about parties! I'll leave you with the "secret" image that I compiled into the fake Nemu 0.8 beta I released on April Foolz!
