I need Help badly

when ever i try to open it it says
Direct 3D failed your HAL device make sure you have a properly confirgured 3D graphics card compatible for direct3D 6.0
then i click ok and then it says
the default or selected video plugins is missing or invalid. Check that you have at least one compatilbe plugin file in your plugin folder.

shows this and i dont no wut todo

make sure desktop color is set to 16bit and not 32bit,also providing your computer specs would be alot more helpful since neither of you says anything about your gfx card.
