*lol* Classic. :freak:

How’s this for an idea? According to Jacques Villeneuve, wing mirrors should be banned in a bid to make F1 more exciting and safer.

Never afraid to voice a controversial viewpoint, the 1997 World Champion says that if drivers can’t see who is behind them then they would be unable to make blocking manoeuvres.

"If you're following someone and he doesn't have mirrors, you know he hasn't seen you, so you know he will turn into the corner," Villeneuve told Autosport magazine. "In a race situation it would be 10 times safer without mirrors."

"Everybody just laughs, but it makes sense. In F1 mirrors are used to block people, and that's the wrong use for a mirror."

Yes, but blocking is a part of F1 although I can admit they use it too often sometime. Saw an article in a swedish paper called aftonbladet today, where they investigated the possibillity of female drivers in F1... That probaly wouldn't help making it safer ;)

Here is the link if you want to babelfish it... And if you do, look at what Eddie has to say... :D

Edit: Hmm, not sure you can babelfish to swedish though... ;)

My understanding on the matter is that the driver blocking can only make one movement to block person behind, another one results in a drive through penalty. I remember that being mentioned in commentary anyway...

Afaik that only aplies to starts, you can only make one change of direction to block another driver...

The best way to make it safer is to get rid of Villeneuve. And M.Schumacher. Jenson Button will reign supreme. *cough*

Nah, it is through the entire race.

You really are a dick.

Haha, he's losing his drive for next year. He may of been good, but he's a has-been. :).

There's some sort of plot against Canada. Next year there'll be no Canadians, and no Canadian circuits. Maybe Villenueve could pick up a test drive at Minardi for next term.

He's a good driver although he's doing his best he isn't good enough to cope with a car that isn't performing as it should, I doubt anyone is... CART is probaly his best option for next year.

And luckily and hopefully the Swedish F3000 talent Björn Wirdheim might get a chance to drive soon... :D

Villenueve is shit though ;)

Schumacher would be shit in a BAR.
Anyone would be shit in a BAR.

The only thing Jenson has had over Jacques this season is luck. Jacques' has retired from 9 or 10 races this season, all due to the car breaking down.

ferrari was shit in 95, it became a top team again when schumacher was there. villeneuve no doubt has the ability to drive flaming fast and aggressive, but he does not have the capability to help build a team, like schumacher does.
